NEWS RELEASE                                                   CONTACT: ANDREA CHEENEY devcoord@hsccnh.org CALVIN COOLIDGE: THE MONADNOCK REGION AS I’VE KNOWN IT   APRIL 4, 2017 – KEENE, NH: The Historical Society of Cheshire County has been collecting, preserving and communicating the region’s history since 1927, back when Calvin Coolidge was President of the United States.   In honor of the Society’s 90 th anniversary, local historian Tracy Messer will make his debut portraying "Calvin Coolidge" at its annual meeting on Wednesday, April 19th at 7:00 pm in an original presentation entitled Calvin Coolidge: The Monadnock Region As I’ve Known It . Born in Vermont, Calvin Coolidge served as Governor of Massachusetts and Vice President before becoming our nation's 30th President on August 2, 1923. Famous for his blend of Yankee wit and wisdom, "Silent Cal" had surprising connections to many towns here in the Monadnock region: Keene, Chesterfield, Fit
